PetroVietnam thỏa thuận hợp tác dự án 10 tỷ USD với Exxon Mobil

Tập đoàn Dầu khí Việt Nam (PVN) có thể sẽ đạt được một thỏa thuận với tập đoàn Exxon Mobil (Mỹ) trong một dự án điện và khí đốt tự nhiên trị giá 10 tỉ USD vào năm 2015, theo hãng tin Bloomberg (Mỹ) ngày 22/8.

Dự án nhằm khai thác nguồn khí đốt trữ lượng từ 6.000 – 8.000 tỷ m3 khí ở thềm lục địa Miền Trung. Trữ lượng này tương đương với khoảng 2/3 trữ lượng khí đốt của Thái Lan và Myanmar mà ExxonMobil cũng hợp tác. Giai đoạn đầu, dự án sẽ xây dựng đường ống dẫn khí từ giàn khoan đến trạm xử lý, sau đó sẽ được sử dụng cho nhà máy điện công xuất 2.500MW.

Đây là thỏa thuận nằm trong chiến lược phát triển mỏ khí đốt thiên nhiên của Việt Nam, ước tính lớn thứ tư ở Đông Á, được Exxon phát hiện vào năm 2012 với trữ lượng rất lớn. Ông Đỗ Văn Hậu - Tổng Giám đốc Tập đoàn Dầu khí Quốc gia Việt Nam (PVN) cho biết, đây sẽ là một trong những dự án đầu tư lớn tầm quốc gia và sẽ giảm bớt tình trạng thiếu điện và mang về doanh thu khoảng 17 tỷ USD mỗi năm.

Được biết ExxonMobil rất quan tâm đến cơ hội đầu tư vào mỏ khí đốt, đường ống dẫn khí và nhà máy xử lý này. PVN sẽ là nhà đầu tư chính vào dự án khai thác khí phục vụ nhà máy điện với tổng đầu tư ước tính khoảng 10 tỷ USD và đang tích cực đàm phán với đối tác để khai thác và vận hành.
